BLUE SAPPHIRE

SAPPHIRE is a type of the mineral corundum, an aluminium oxide. Sapphires have the same mineral structure as rubies, except that they are not red. Sapphire can be found in the ground or it can be made in large crystal.     

BLUE SAPPHIRES are the most famous kind, but they can be many different colours, like amber and orange. Blue sapphire exists in various mixtures of its primary (blue) and secondary hues, various tonal levels (shades) and at various levels of saturation (vividness). They are evaluated based upon the purity of their blue hue.

HISTORY: Sapphire comes from the Greek word 'sappheiros', the French word 'saphir' or the Latin word 'sapphirus'. And in fact, all these words have the same meaning which is blue stone or crystal.

HEALING: Sapphire is known as a wisdom stone and, each colour has its own particular wisdom. It focuses and calms the mind and releases unwanted thoughts and mental tension. t will also focus and open your mind to beauty and intuition. Blue Sapphire in particular is associated with love and purity. It cleans the throat chakra facilitating self-expression.
